Roots Down, Branches Out

Plans are afoot to build a new community centre which will seamlessly co-exist on the site and support Christ Church’s mission to “Grow in outreach and service to the community by developing existing work and exploring other ways of responding to local need”.

An architectural view of the building, viewed from Church Path by the Oasis Café.

Thanks to the dedicated work of the community centre development team, a sub-committee of the PCC, Planning Consent was granted at an Islington Council Planning Committee meeting on March 27th 2018. This is for the erection of a new single storey Church and Community centre to accommodate the Church’s office, reception and administration functions, as well as flexible community space for Church activities, community outreach and a small café. Planning consent is valid for three years to start the building work or else the permission will lapse.
