Teas for the Elderly

Members of our congregation help organise and host a monthly tea party for a group of elderly people from our community, many of whom are isolated and in declining health.

The tea parties are hosted at a volunteer's house and the guests are driven to and from the party by other volunteers.  Both guests and volunteers look forward to the teas - the chance for interesting conversation and always a fine selection of sandwiches, cakes and plenty of cups of tea!

We run these teas in conjunction with the charity Contact the Elderly (www.contact-the-elderly.org.uk )and other volunteers from the community.
