Roots Down, Branches Out

All midweek church activities have been suspended in light of new measures taken by the government and Church of England to eliminate the rapid spread of Covid-19.

Please visit to read about what’s happening in our church community online and have access to online sermon and youth work videos.

Our involvement in the community is an essential part of growing “branches out” from the church. Christ Church plays an important role in the life of the local community in Highbury, as well as in the wider London community and even overseas.

The church is a member of the Islington Faiths Forum and has recently joined the North London chapter of Citizens UK. Alongside other churches in Islington, it provides a night shelter from January to March, and is also involved with local initiatives such as Help on Your Doorstep and London Capital Credit Union.

Our community engagement team are responsible for much of our involvement in the local community, and if you would like to get involved or find out more information, please contact John Gilbert, our chair of Community Engagement Group.
