Roots Down, Branches Out

Christ Church services are lead by Music Directors Rachel Maby and James Buckham. Alongside our services, the church serves as a regular rehearsal and concert venue for Eclectic Voices, Highbury Youth Choir, Cello Corner, Bach-to-baby, Camerata N5 and 60minute concerts series.

Jack Tomkins is Christ Church’s in-house sound engineer is available for audio-visual recordings and live mixing for concerts. Please get in touch with the main office for more details of hire costs.

Music worship

9am Sunday Service

This is a traditional Anglican service accompanied solely by organ with two hymns sung at each service.

11am Sunday Service

This is a lively family service, which incorporates a range of music from traditional Anglican hymns to fellowship songs. The service is lead by both Music Directors and the music worship team, which consists of an adult choir, children’s choir, instrumentalists, organ and piano.

6.30pm Monthly Jazz Vespers
Christ Church Jazz Vespers takes place on the fourth Sunday of the month and is lead by Christ Church Jazz Choir and band and directed by Rachel Maby. It is a music lead service where Christians and non-Christians are welcome alike. The service allows time to reflect and appreciate spiritual and secular musical works in an informal worship setting.

Seasonal Services
Christ Church hosts special services to coincide with the Church calendar. At Christmas we host an evening Jazz Advent lead by Christ Church Jazz Choir, an evening Carol service lead by Eclectic Voices and Christ Church organist and an all-age Christingle morning service. At Easter we host an evening jazz Palm Sunday service lead by the Christ Church Jazz Choir and Passiontide sequence on Good Friday lead by Christ Church Music Directors. Other special services include Remembrance, Harvest and healing morning services.
