VETTING AND TRAINING OF STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS
DBS checks:
All staff, volunteers and Trustees who are in contact with or making decisions about children, young people and vulnerable adults must be police checked for their safety to perform these roles.
A third party organisation ThirtyOne Eight carries out the police checks on our behalf.
To complete an application for a DBS check, staff and volunteers should complete the online part of the DBS application online.
Once the online part is complete, they will then need to take 3 forms of ID to our DBS administrator (in the church office) to complete the final stage of the application.
Provided they are cleared to work with children/vulnerable adults, a certificate will be sent to the applicant’s home address and a copy sent to the Parish Safeguarding Officer.

Training:
All volunteers, staff and trustees must also have completed the appropriate level of safeguarding training, safer recruitment and domestic violence training.
Most of these can be completed at home via the online training portal, and a copy sent to the Parish Safeguarding Officer.
